Digging into engagement

Let’s start with this

Self-assessment of engagement

  • Am I replying to comments and direct messages (DMs)?
  • Am I following like-minded businesses and creators?
  • Am I interacting with other accounts?
  • Am I collecting UGC (user-generated content)?
  • Am I tracking my most engaged followers?

What do you do with it?

  1. Share to Stories – Tag me in it and add a little GIPHY
  2. Send a message thanking me for posting and ask for a copy of the gorgeous content i just made, with the promises that you will share and tag later.
  3. Use the app REPOST to automagically take my image and post it on your Instagram feed, where you tag me and thank me for sharing.

This type of content is called User-Generated Content (UGC for short). I would highly recommend that you collect and share UGC’s as it’s a great way to engage the audience further. Plus, it makes you look good to new-comers.

Let’s Talk Reels


Keeping up on what to do and what not to do on all the social platforms can be challenging, so I’m going to be your guide through this all.

Instagram Reels deprioritizes recycled content from another platform (ex. TikTok).
All content shared on Reels with a watermark, or logo is less discoverable., so don’t do that.

WHAT TO POST ON REELS:

  • Are inspiring (encourages others to create content, make a trend)
  • Use creative tools like text, filter, or camera effects
  • Uses vertical video
  • Use music from the Instagram music library and/or original audio you create or find on Reels
  • Are experimental (Try something new, and most importantly – be yourself)
  • Entertaining and fun
